Sarah Adams – Bio

Singing in front of people used to be my biggest fear so I fully understand how daunting it can be joining a singing group or going along to a workshop but rest assured, my ethos is all about creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere so that everyone can enjoy singing together. It’s so good for the soul and I absolutely love what I do.

I am part of acoustic band Canter Semper in which I sing and play piano. We gig regularly around Manchester playing original harmony driven tunes with a vintage gospel vibe. Our most recent headline gigs include Band on the wall, The Deaf Institute and Club Academy.

‘Chorlton ladies’ singing group has already been involved in a variety of community events in Chorlton and we have many more events/gigs set for this year. ‘The NQ Singing Group’ is based in the city centre and designed to help you finish off your working day with a good sing! We sing new arrangements of contemporary songs and also socialise – it’s a great way to meet new people! I run an annual charity event in which both choirs are featured to raise money for Manchester centric charities – this year will be our third year.

Canter Semper have also featured singers from ‘Chorlton Ladies’ singing group and ‘The NQ Singing Group’ in their most recent music events as a backing choir at venues such as Deaf Institute, Club Academy and Gullivers. There is lots of opportunities to perform if you want to, all are optional.

I also lead Manchester Survivors Choir (One Voice, Park Life Festival)

I am extremely passionate about music and singing and hope that one of my groups can help you to try something new, maybe revisit an old skill or – most importantly – have a great time singing as a group!
